Who we are

ACT Debt Watch is a community-supported campaign for honest budgeting, responsible spending and a sustainable future for the ACT, led by Ed Cocks MLA. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the campaign.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. Depending on how you use the site, that may include:

• Your name and email address, if you sign up for updates or request we contact local representatives on your behalf.
• Your suburb or postcode, if you provide it, so we can identify your electorate and local representatives.
• A record that you used the site to contact a Member of the Legislative Assembly, including the message details you submit, where you choose to send one through the site.

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, religious or political-membership details).

How we use it

We use your information to:

• communicate with you about the campaign and related issues;
• help you contact your local representatives; and
• understand the overall level of support for the campaign.

We will not sell your information, and we will not use it for any unrelated purpose without telling you.

How it is stored and who can see it

Information you submit through our forms is stored in a Google spreadsheet and in a secure customer-relationship-management (CRM) system. Access is restricted to staff working on the campaign, and we take reasonable steps to keep it secure.

We use established third-party services to collect, store and manage this information, including Google (Sheets) and a third-party email provider such as Zoho. These providers process the data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep your information until you ask us to remove it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from updates at any time using the link in our emails, or by contacting us. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
